This way we can make things a little less stressful for our expectant mothers! Price does not degrade quality, we just want to offer an amazing experience at a fair rate.

Like their two-dimensional counterparts, 3D ultrasounds use high-frequency sound waves and special imaging software to create images of your baby’s soft tissues and other anatomy. But 3D ultrasounds produce much sharper, clearer images of your baby.

While 3D ultrasounds produce clear visuals of your baby, 4D ultrasounds take it one step further by capturing video. You’ll get an image of your baby with live action movement, so you can see what she’s doing right at that very second like smiling, smirking, thumb-sucking—minus the short time delay of traditional ultrasounds.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Women seeking an elective prenatal ultrasound with Love at First Sight 3D must already be receiving treatment with a healthcare provider for prenatal care or be set up with an OB if in the first trimester. If later than 14 weeks, mothers should have already undergone a medical, diagnostic ultrasound ordered by their provider to confirm their due date, screen for fetal anomalies, and to look for any other pregnancy related issues. Your imaging session at Love at First Sight 3D is strictly an elective ultrasound. We demonstrate and document only the existence of a heart beat. Please note, at no time is this elective experience to be confused with, or used in place of, a diagnostic ultrasound.

No, no physicians order or script is needed to book this appointment as it is completely elective.

At this point, insurance does not cover the costs of our ultrasounds. Since this is an elective procedure and is not intended to be a replacement for your doctor ordered ultrasound, you will need to pay the cost of this ultrasound as an out of pocket expense. We accept cash, debit, or credit as forms of payment.

An in office diagnostic scan takes a look at the anatomy of your baby including the brain, extremities, and vital organs. They also check your amniotic fluid, placenta and more to evaluate for anomalies. During your elective scan, it is more for entertainment. We do check for heartbeat but otherwise we will not scan the babies vital organs or check your fluid, cervix, etc. Our patients are strongly encouraged to have an Obstetrician on file for appointments.

Extensive studies conducted over 35 years have found that ultrasound has not been shown to cause any harm to mother or baby. Routine scanning of all pregnancies is now normal throughout the United States. These routine scans would be considered highly irresponsible if there were even a small risk to mother or baby. In 3D/4D scanning, exactly the same type and intensity of ultrasound is used as with conventional 2D scanning. 3D and 4D Ultrasound both utilize sound waves to look inside the body. The technology is similar to radar. A probe placed on the body emits sound waves into the body, listens for the return echo and generates an image. 4D ultrasound will be similar to a conventional scan in terms of sound exposure.

Yes, appointments are necessary for all of our services.

Yes. In fact, we encourage our clients to invite family and friends to attend the elective 4D ultrasound session. This is a joyous and wonderful experience, one that can be shared with your family and loved ones. Due to Covid-19, there is currently a limit of 10 people in our studio.

Ultrasound can provide a good idea of the baby’s gender. After 16 weeks the genital area becomes more developed and is easier to see via ultrasound. Though, there is always a chance we cannot see due to position, development, etc.

Depending on the package you choose, the 4D ultrasound session will last between 15 and 30 minutes. However, for an in-home ultrasound, plan on at least an hour in order for us to set up and take down equipment.

That depends on what you are looking to see. Many mothers like coming in twice, early on to see an initial heartbeat, determine gender, and develop that bond with baby, which can be established in the 10-20 week range. And again, later in pregnancy to see their perfect babys facial features and really get an idea of what the baby will look like once he or she is born. This is usually done between 24 to 34 weeks. Please note that after 34 weeks it is more difficult to see alot of facial features due to size and lack of room for baby as they prepare for birth.

Most doctors recommend maintaining a healthy fluid intake, especially while you are pregnant. This will help to ensure your amniotic fluid is clear as well as full. There are many things out of the sonographer’s control like the baby’s position, the mother’s skin type and build, amount of amniotic fluid, etc. Just make sure you stay well hydrated in the days/ weeks before your appointment.

Printed images are given to you before you leave the studio or before I leave your home! Additionally, we do provide a digital copy of all images from your scan and offer a USB drive for a small fee.

At Love at First Sight 3D, our main priority is to provide an amazing experience for our mothers which includes getting great images of their baby. If we are not able to get good images, we will set up an additional appointment at no charge within 2 weeks or less to reattempt the session. Some factors when it comes to imaging the baby are out of our hands, but we will make absolutely every attempt possible at the best images of baby. We will not give up easily!

If you are overweight you should not be afraid to have a 4D elective ultrasound, however we strongly urge that you wait until after 27 weeks gestation to give the baby time to obtain more fat on their face. If you are overweight you will need to have a VERY high level of amniotic fluid to obtain clear images of the baby. If you drink the recommended amount of water in the weeks leading up to your appointment there is no reason you should not be able to obtain great images! If you do have questions regarding 2D or gender scans, please just contact us! Never feel embarrassed, we understand if you have questions!
